The Beatitudes Part 3: The Meek
Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
The third beatitude is about meekness. Meekness is not a very common word in today's conversation. May be it is because this is a quality of life that has become increasingly rare in our selfish world.
Meekness refers to humility that sees the other as better than self. Those that humbly submit to the will of God are truly blessed. The world might look at them as fools, but the heavens look down on them with favor.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" Mat 5:3
